A California Beat Literary Timeline- The 1950s

Coventry, England: The Beat Scene Press, 2014. Limited First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. Number 47 in the Beat Scene Press series of chapbooks published by Kevin Ring in the UK, this is a year-by-year timeline from 1950-1959 of Beat literary milestones in California, by broadcaster-poet-writer Jack Foley. This is a separate printing of what was originally part of a much larger two-volume work. All the figures & events of this key period & place in Beat history are here- Allen Ginsberg's first readings of Howl; Lawrence Ferlinghetti's establishments of City Lights bookshop & publisher; etc., etc. With reproduction of a photograph of artist George Herms by Wallace Berman on front cover. One of an edition of 125 numbered copies issued in November of 2014, this is copy No. 31/125. An excellent reference source & another collectible gem in this great series.
