(1) Gas No. 1, Winter 1990, featuring eight poems by post-Beat cult icon Charles Bukowski; a series of illustrations with talk-bubbles excerpted from "The Thousand Year Empire" by prolific poet-writer-biographer-artist Tom Clark (also a co-editor of this series); four poems by the great Beat-Black Mountain School poet Robert Creeley; a lengthy poem-treatise including footnotes by legendary writer-publisher Edward Sanders ("Green Economics"); poems by Ted Berrigan, Joanne Kyger, Michael McClure & Ron Padgett; & much more. With illustrations, vintage advertisements, etc. (2) Gas No. 2, Spring 1991, including the poem "Murderer's Wine" by Charles Baudelaire, translated from French into English by Walter Martin; seven poems by Bukowski; a series of haiku-esque verses entitled "Little Cantos" by Clark; an excerpt from the poem "Hi Plane", Ascending the Platte" by key Black Mountain School poet Edward Dorn; a paneled comic story by Steve Kongsle ("Pinata"); two untitled poems by David Meltzer; & much more. With illustrations, including one by Brainard, advertisements & a loose folded-sheet pamphlet publicizing this & the first two issues.
