A Piece: A top. A new red top. Is it red?

Grindstone City, MI: The Alternative Press, Circa 1980s. First Printing. Single Sheet. A letter-size broadside (8&1/2"x11") with the title prose-poem by Maureen Owen, an acclaimed poet who is now on the faculty of Naropa University in Boulder, CO. The subject of this piece is Jack Kerouac's sexism in his work & life, from a feminist-literary perspective. Published by the legendary Alternative Press, the imprint of Ken Mikolowski & his late wife, Ann Gustafson, which flourished in Detroit, Ann Arbor & rural Grindstone City, MI from the 1960s-1990s. There is no date reference, we estimate it was made during the 1980s. A most interesting rarity by Owen & the Alternative Press, relating to Kerouac. In very fine, virtually mint condition on thick, coarse-textured pink-salmon colored paper. Mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Light dusting of spots & debris on surface of shrinkwrap, not broadside. Very Fine. [Item #2299]
