A broadside (12"x16") with the title poem by Joel Oppenheimer (1930-1988), a major Black Mountain/New York School poet who was also the first director of the St. Marks Poetry Project & an acclaimed prose writer for the Village Voice in NYC. With uncredited block-print illustration evoking the natural themes of the poem. One of 100 copies printed by Kriya Press of Sri Ram Ashrama, this is hand-numbered copy No. 85/100. During this period, Kriya Press also issued similar productions with works by Allen Ginsberg & other Beat Generation luminaries. A very significant & desirable Oppenheimer rarity. In very fine condition, virtually mint except for tiny amount of rubbing at thin edges & corners; one very faint, small crease at upper right corner; irregularities of coarse-textured handmade paper as issued. Currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube. Very Fine. [Item #2301]
