Defiance: A Radical Review, #3

New York, NY: Coronet Communications, Inc., 1971. First Printing. Softcover. The third number of the exemplary series of commodified radicalism in the wake of the 1960s, as it continued to sour from peaceful flower-power into anger. With articles & poetry including a lengthy interview of anarchist-Yippie firebrand Abbie Hoffman conducted by editor Dotson Rader & co., illustrated with three photographs; two early poems by since-acclaimed writer & journalist Andre Codrescu including "More About Monks"; & much more. With more photos including a small portfolio of Canadian radicalism; short notes on writers preceding their contributions; incendiary introduction by editor Rader; cover illustration of Hoffman emphatically raising his arm sporting an American flag shirt while a woman yells in front of him, etc. Another classic relic of the later radical era. In fine condition with only very mild rubbing, creasing & browning of front, back covers & esp. spine; very minor wear & tiny bumps at edges & corners of same. Interior very fine with only very light browning of margins & edges of page leaves. Fine. [Item #2446]
