[Item #2521] Pictures of the Gone World. Lawrence Ferlinghetti.

Pictures of the Gone World

San Francisco, CA: City Lights Books, 1955. Stated Sixteenth Printing of May, 1971. Softcover. The debut book of poems from City Lights founder Lawrence Ferlinghetti, "Pictures of the Gone World" marked the appearance of a bold new voice in American literature whose creative contributions and unifying spirit would permanently alter literary history. Drawing from his student days in France and his experience exploring Surrealist, Symbolist, Romanticist and Modernist bodies of literature, Ferlinghetti formed a voice that echoed these influences and was distinctly all his own. In fine condition with only a small tear on the back border of the rear black wrappers. There is no rip on the actual rear back wrapper, but a skinning of sorts as if someone incorrectly pulled a sticker off of it. Otherwise in very fine condition, a very clean copy that still exemplifies the feel of the early City Lights publications. Fine. [Item #2521]
