New York, NY: Gagosian Gallery, 1997. First Edition, First Printing & Association Copy. Wrappers in Sewn Binding. Signed & Inscribed by Robert Creeley to Ken & Ann Mikolowski, Founders of Detroit's "Alternative Press," and signed by Francesco Clemente, Artist & Illustrator. In 1997 the Gagosian Gallery in New York published a collaboration of the work of poet Robert Creeley and the paintings of artist Francesco Clemente, a painter who counts Allen Ginsberg, William Blake, and Creeley himself among his influences. The collaboration seems to be executed effortlessly, as the luminous simplicity of Clemente's canvases carry an intertextual conversation with Creeley's equally intimate contributions. Signed beautifully in black ink "For Ken and Ann--/ Always! / With my love, / Bob / (illegible) 7/24/97." "Ken and Ann" are Ken & Ann Mikolowski, founders of Detroit's visionary "Alternative Press," publishers of many Beat//New York School/Black Mountain-related authors.
