Radnik Pisar

Detroit, MI: 2 X 4 Press, 1983. First Edition. Softcover. Inscribed & signed by Mick Vranich to James Perrizo. "RADNIK PISAR means WORKER WRITER in the Serbian language, and was a name given to me by a cousin, from my Father's side, in Yugoslavia." (Author's note) A volume of poems by Mick Vranich (1946-2010), a Detroit workingman-poet somewhat in the tradition of Philip Levine, who also performed his poetry with musical backup & was a beloved member of the local creative scene. Vranich met his untimely death as the result of a work-related accident. Large-format softcover original, first edition as stated on copyright page. This copy is inscribed, signed & dated by the poet on the copyright page: "Jim,/ we are/ in time!/ (signed) Mick '90." "Jim" is James Perrizo (1944-2006), a major Beat-&-Beyond collector & scholar who once assisted Edie Parker, Jack Kerouac's first wife. A handsome production, & a very desirable Vranich collectible with its association & provenance. In very fine condition with only very light wear, one small, faint crease & a few tiny bumps at upper edge & right corner of front cover; otherwise substantially mint inside & out. Very Fine.
