Featuring the poem "Mistress Spirit" by Clayton Eshleman, the great American poet, translator & scholar who has long resided near us in Michigan, our friend & mentor. On the title-copyright page, Eshleman has hand-inscribed & signed: "For Jim Perrizo/ -(signed) Clayton Eshleman." James Perrizo (1944-2006) was an intensely devoted Beat-&-Beyond collector & scholar, particularly of Eshleman among others. Also in this issue are contributions by Allen Ginsberg, Founding Father of the Beat Generation (the poem "I Noticed the Sea, I Noticed the Music, I Wanted to Dance," precisely dated "2:30-3:15am/ May 28, 1987"); Editorial Advisors Allen Fisher (two poems including "Breaks") & Eric Mottram, the prolific poet & writer who was the author of one of the earliest critical studies of William S. Burroughs, The Algebra of Need (three poems including "Return from Expedition"); & many more. With brief notes on contributors, list of publications received, etc. A rare & rich issue in this collectible series, especially with Eshleman's inscription & for his, Ginsberg's & Mottram's devotees; & with significant provenance & association. In very fine condition with only light scratching & sparse creases to laminated front, back covers & spine; very light wear & a few faint creases, tiny bumps at/near edges & corners of same. Interior very fine with only barely discernable horizontal wave-lines near bottom edge of page leaves (undoubtedly a very slight production flaw as issued); miniscule bumps at corners of a few of same.
