Trade-format softcover original, first edition as stated, unusually, on band at lower edge of front cover; "First printing, December, 1991" as stated on copyright page. The actual copyright year is stated as 1992. With frontispiece image of a poster for a 1918 film titled "Good Night, Paul"; classic (uncredited) engraving with "Gentlemen" added above doorway to humorous effect on front cover. A desirable, later Peters collectible that could serve as a capsule representation of his overall canon. In very fine condition with only very slight wear & a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of front, back covers & spine; tiny bumps at corners of some page leaves; otherwise substantially mint inside & out.
