Kathmandu, Nepal: Starstream Editions, 1975. First Printing. Single Sheet. Signed by Ira Cohen. A 10"x7&3/4" broadside, presumed to be among the Starstream Editions published by Ira Cohen (1935-2011) during his sojourn in Kathmandu, Nepal during the 1970s. Cohen was a noted poet, publisher, photographer & filmmaker whose career & collaborations spanned the Beat era & beyond. Among a series of broadsides printed on local paper on a handpress by Nepali craftsmen. Cohen's short title poem is followed by his name, the location & the date of "Jan. 1st, 1975" in print, below which is his hand-signature. To the right of the signed poem is a large illustration of a symbolic medallion, which interestingly seems to incorporate both the Star of David & the swastika, in its original direction & formation as a positive religious symbol. Very rare among this legendary series, & in very fine condition, relatively mint with wrinkles, spotting & minor irregularities undoubtedly as issued or through natural process of this hand-crafted, very delicate item. Single light vertical line in middle may be where folded.
Item is currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrink wrap, will be shipped rolled in a tube. Very Fine. [Item #1980]
