But. Robert Creeley.

But

n/p: Unknown, Circa 1975. First Printing. Single Sheet. Signed & dated with citation by Robert Creeley. A broadside (13"x15&1/2") with a poem in calligraphic print by Robert Creeley, "But" is the title &/or the first word of the poem. Creeley (1926-2005) is among the most important figures in the American poetry canon, associated with the Beats & the Black Mountain poets. With a colorful, bold illustration. Below his printed name, Creeley has signed, dated & dedicated: "For Joan and Allen/with my love, / (signed) Bob/12/12/75 (line-flourish) Buffalo." Most probably, this was written by Creeley at the Just Buffalo Literary Center, where he performed readings during this period. It is possible that the Center produced this item, but there is no reference to publisher, date or limitation. An exceptionally rare & interesting Creeley broadside, especially with this affectionate hand-citation. In very fine condition, virtually mint on rough-textured handmade paper. Mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Light dusting of spots & debris on surface of shrinkwrap, not broadside.

Item is currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrink wrap, will be shipped rolled in a tube.
Very Fine. [Item #2006]
