A broadside-poster (11"x14") announcing the title event at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago held on March 18, 1988. Michigan-based poet Clayton Eshleman is the leading translator into English of the works of Caesar Vallejo (1892-1938), the great Peruvian poet & playwright. At this event, Eshleman read & discussed Vallejo's poetry. With reproduction of a 1929 image of Vallejo. Near & at the bottom edge, Eshleman has hand-written: "For Jim Perrizo- (signed) Clayton Eshleman/1988" The late James Perrizo, A literary collector & scholar especially of the Beat Generation, was an acquaintance of Eshleman & a major collector of his works. A rare Eshleman-related collectible with significant associations. In very fine condition, with only two almost imperceptible creases at upper left corner. Small streaks, two at upper & middle left edge & one at lower right edge; tiny spot below image in blank areas are most likely flaws as issued.
