A broadside-poster (11"x14") announcing the title event at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago held on March 18, 1988. Michigan-based poet Clayton Eshleman is the leading translator into English of the works of Caesar Vallejo (1892-1938), the great Peruvian poet & playwright. At this event, Eshleman read & discussed Vallejo's poetry. With reproduction of a 1929 image of Vallejo. Near & at the bottom edge, Eshleman has hand-written: "For Jim Perrizo- (signed) Clayton Eshleman/1988" The late James Perrizo, A literary collector & scholar especially of the Beat Generation, was an acquaintance of Eshleman & a major collector of his works. A rare Eshleman-related collectible with significant associations. In very fine condition, with only two almost imperceptible creases at upper left corner. Small streaks, two at upper & middle left edge & one at lower right edge; tiny spot below image in blank areas are most likely flaws as issued. Item is currently mounted on stiff board, in protective wrap, will be shipped rolled in tube. Very Fine. [Item #2067]
