Featuring poetry & prose by Robert Bly, French surrealist Rene Crevel, Tess Gallagher, Gerard Malanga, Michael McClure, Thomas McGrath & many others. Also a portfolio of black & white photographs of the Kassel Documenta 8 art exhibit in (then West-) Germany, as well as a color reproduction of a detail of a sculpture by exhibitor Robert Longo. On the inside front cover of this copy is cursively written name & information of the Chinese-American writer Maxine Hong Kingston, possibly in her hand. Kingston contributed a chapter from one of her prose works to Caliban 5 (see item #2082). Another significant issue in this increasingly scarce original printed series, in very fine condition with only very mild rubbing & spotting of front, back covers & spine; miniscule chipping along edges & corners of same; mild creases at edges of & tiny gauges along spine.
