(2) Issue II, 1977, featuring the poem "Versions of Kabir" by Bly, with illustrations by Dhyana Greenberger & Carol Snow; two poems by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, primary poet, publisher & proprietor of the Beats & beyond; poems by Joanne Kyger, Aram Saroyan, A.D. Winans & many others; portfolios of photographs by Ed Buryn, Helen Nestor & Dale Samoker; & many more illustrations throughout. (3) Issue III, 1980, featuring five poems by di Prima; three poems by Neeli Cherkovski; the poem "Culture on Landforms" by John Montgomery; the poem "Legends About Air and Water" by Richard Tillinghast; portfolios of photographs by Ira Kirschenbaum, Neil Jacobs & Barbara Myman (photo collages); & much more, including many illustrations throughout. (4) Issue IV, 1989, featuring a prose poem by Bly, with a photograph by Michael Sykes; the poem "Czechoslovakia" by Michael McClure; the poem "I Cannot Lie Still" by John Montgomery; two poems by Gary Snyder, a key member of the Beat Generation; portfolios of photographs by Kevin Bubriski, Evvy Eisen & Sykes; & much more, including many illustrations throughout. All four issues, rarely available together, of this most important literary series, in conditions as follows: (1) near-fine with only moderate rubbing & creasing to front, back covers & spine; vertical creases with small chips through length of spine edges where joined to covers; mild bump-creases & chipping at all corners esp. lower right corner of front cover. Interior very fine. (2) good/near-fine with only moderate rubbing & creasing to front, back covers & spine; several moderate vertical creases through length of spine & very mild chipping at spine edges where joined to covers; very light bump-creases at all corners & chipping at edges; approx. 2" thin horizontal area of gauge-chipping beginning at upper right edge of back cover & extending through approx. last thirty pages (cat paw damage?). Interior very fine except as noted above, & with very mild wave-crease across upper corners of pages. (3) near-fine with only very mild rubbing of front, back covers & spine; light vertical crease along length of spine edge where joined to front cover; light chipping of cover edges & bottom edge of spine; very minor bump-creases at all corners esp. upper right corner of front cover; very small gauge-chip at top edge of spine (again from cat paws?) slightly extending into text-block edge. Interior very fine except as noted above, & with very mild wave-crease across upper corners of pages. (4) near-fine with only small gauge-chip at top edge of spine extending slightly into text-block edge as with (3), otherwise virtually mint inside & out. Good/Near Fine. [Item #2124]
