Remembering Jack Kerouac

Coventry, England: The Beat Scene Press, 2008. Limited First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. Number 16 in the Beat Scene Press Pocket Book Series published by Kevin Ring in the UK, this is a transcription of two lengthy letters written by author John Clellon Holmes, reminiscing in detail on his long friendship with Jack Kerouac. The letters were written in response to inquiries by Joy Walsh, the publisher of the Kerouac newsletter Moody Street Irregulars, & were written in the early 1970s, shortly after Kerouac's death, when these memories were still fresh in Holmes' mind. With reproduction of a photograph of Holmes with Kerouac taken in 1962 by Holmes' wife Shirley on front cover & again inside. One of a limited edition of 125 hand-numbered copies produced in May of 2008, this is copy No. 80/125. Another scarce, important collectible in this great series. In very fine condition with only mild creasing at stapled spine; a few tiny scratches near upper left corner & small bump-crease at upper right corner of front cover; otherwise mint inside & out. Very Fine. [Item #2135]
