San Francisco, CA: The Brownstone Press, 1970. First Printing. Single Sheet. A broadside (12&3/4"x18&1/2") with the title poem by Jack Hirschman. A most prolific & revered poet associated with the Beats, Hirschman was the Poet Laureate of San Francisco, where he founded the International Poetry Festival. Issued as Butterfly Broadside No. 2 in an unknown limitation. A beautiful production, with repetitive rows & columns of illustrations (including butterflies) on the left side, & interestingly arranged rows & columns of text on the right side, divided by a vertical line in the middle. A very scarce Hirschman collectible, in very fine condition with only one tiny chip at mid-left of upper edge; faint horizontal slightly angled crease from left edge along most of middle; otherwise mint on coarse-textured handmade paper. Irregular lower edge with small vertical creases emanating therefrom appear to be as issued. Very Fine. [Item #2174]
