Louisville, KY: The Literary Renaissance, 1993. First Printing. Single Sheet. A broadside (11"x17") announcing the appearance of Grateful Dead member Robert Hunter at the University of Louisville. As noted on the broadside, Hunter, in addition to being the primary lyricist for the Grateful Dead, wrote lyrics for Bob Dylan, Jefferson Starship & others; he has also published his own poems & translations of some works by Ranier Maria Rilke. The publisher of this broadside, The Literary Renaissance, had just issued Hunter's poetry chapbook, No Apocalypse. The Literary Renaissance has produced many chapbooks in its Published in Heaven Series, as well as broadsides, featuring the works of William S. Burroughs, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Allen Ginsberg & other great luminaries. As noted, this appearance was part of a national tour, partly to promote the new collection, & featured songwriter-musician Kelly Wilkinson as a special guest. A very rare, interesting collectible. In very fine condition, virtually mint except for a few very faint, tiny creases at & near lower left edge; tiny bump at lower left corner.
Item is currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrink wrap, will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube. Very Fine. [Item #2179]
