Lawrence, KS: Tansy/Wakarusa, 1972. First Printing. Single Sheet. "Life begins with coiling- molecules and nebulae."(Thesis No. 56) A broadside (10"x16&3/4") with the title poem by Michael McClure, a primary poet-playwright of the San Francisco renaissance, the Beat Generation & beyond. McClure's groovy alternate take on Martin Luther's 99 theses that ignited the Protestant movement in Christianity. Very thought-provoking & exemplary of McClure. Originally issued folded, with title, author & publisher's information on verso, this copy has no creases- it appears to have never been folded. It may therefore be a special copy, withheld from or pre-prepared for commerce. A most desirable & interesting McClure collectible, in very fine condition with only slightest rubbing at edges & corners of coarse-textured handmade paper. Light dusting of spots & debris on surface of shrinkwrap, not broadside.
Item is currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrink wrap, will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube. Very Fine. [Item #2248]
