San Francisco, CA: KQED Channel 9, Circa 1973. First Printing. Single Sheet. A broadside (11"x15") announcing a reading from the collection September Blackberries by Michael McClure, along with his then-wife Joanna McClure, on the radio station KQED Channel 9 in San Francisco. There is no year mentioned, but the date of Thursday, May 3 referred to occurred during 1973, & the volume September Blackberries: a collection of new poems from Michael McClure was first published in 1974 by New Directions Books. We therefore presume that this radio reading was a lead-up promotion of the soon-to-be-released collection. A beautiful production on coarse-textured handmade white paper with main text in black & four poetic words at each corner in lavender. A very scarce collectible relating to McClure, among the primary poet-playwrights of the San Francisco Renaissance, the Beat Generation & beyond. In very fine condition with only very light creasing & rubbing esp. at & near edges & corners.
Item is currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrink wrap, will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube. Very Fine. [Item #2258]
