Cottonwood Review, Winter 1973-74; Summer 1974 (two issues)

Lawrence, KS: University of Kansas, 1974. First Printing. Softcover. Two contiguous issues of the literary journal published by the University of Kansas. The issues respectively feature two parts of an interview with Allen Ginsberg, primary poet of the Beat Generation, conducted "...during the winter of 1965-66 at a crowded party near the University of Kansas. It was originally printed as two parts of the 1966 issues of the Cottonwood Review. The interviewer is William Knief, a former editor of Cottonwood. The present form is abridged."(from editor's note preceding second part). The issues also feature many artful illustrations & photographs, & contributions of poetry & prose from Walter Mosley, Douglas Blazek & many others. While this is the second, abridged appearance of the Ginsberg interview as noted above, the issues otherwise contain much original work & are still desirable Ginsberg collectibles. Both issues are in very fine condition: Winter 1973-74 issue with lightest rubbing & scratching of front, back covers & spine; interior very fine. Summer 1974 issue in same condition except for moderate soiling of blank white back cover. Very Fine. [Item #2259]
