Adventures in Poetry, Number 11

New York, NY: Larry Fagin, 1974. First Printing. Stapled Sheets. Signed & dated by Allen Ginsberg. The eleventh number of the literary journal edited & published by Larry Fagin, a key figure in the "Mimeo Revolution" in NYC during the 1960s & 1970s. This issue features contributions by Michael McClure (sections 121-129 from his poem "Fleas"); Ron Padgett (a prose poem, "Wilson '57"); Anne Waldman (the poem "Fast Speaking Woman"); John Wieners (the surreal prose piece "A Superficial Estimation...") & many others. This copy has been signed & dated at the upper right area of the contents page by Allen Ginsberg: "(signed) Allen Ginsberg/Jan 23-4, 1975." Ginsberg, primary poet of the Beat Generation & beyond, did not contribute to this issue as he had to at least one other number that we know of. But he was at the center of the poets, writers & scene that this journal & issue exemplify. A vintage issue of this most important series, greatly enriched by Ginsberg's hand-signature & date near the time of publication. In relatively fine condition with only moderate rubbing, scratching & browning esp. at & near edges of front, back cover sheets; mild wear, bumps & chips at edges & corners of same. Interior fine with only browning & wear to edges & corners of page leaves; faint crease-folds & tiny spots on a few page leaves. Near Fine. [Item #2263]
