A broadside (8&1/2"x14") announcing performances of the play !The Feast! by Michael McClure, a primary poet & playwright of the San Francisco Renaissance, the Beat Generation & beyond. This production of the play, originally written & performed in 1960, took place during late May through early June of 1982 at the 544 Natoma Gallery in San Francisco. With exquisite graphics by Claude Duvall including list of players; & wonderful drawings of characters by Jim Housley. This copy appears to have been originally folded into quarters & mailed to the late, legendary Serendipity Bookstore in Berkeley. A most rare & beautiful McClure collectible. In very fine condition with only three horizontal creases where folded as noted; a few faint creases on surface; small encircled number in light pencil from previous seller in blank area near upper right corner; mailing-related stamps & sticker on verso third quarter. Currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Will be shipped carefully re-folded. Very Fine. [Item #2283]
