A Curse on the Men in Washington, Pentagon

Santa Barbara, CA: Unicorn Press, 1970. Second Printing. Single Sheet. A broadside (approx. 12"x16") with the title poem by Gary Snyder, a living legend & among the primary poets of the Beat Generation & beyond. The poem is a fierce statement against Vietnam war-era American policy & upholds Native American/nature-sensitive values. Originally issued in 1967 by the Communication Company in San Francisco; then in two first letterpress editions (signed & unsigned) in 1968-1970 by Unicorn Press in Santa Barbara. This copy is from the second printing of the first letterpress edition, published in 1970 by Unicorn Press in an edition of 500 copies. This edition is distinguished by the word "Buddha" being corrected from the misspelling of "Buddah." A beautiful production, & a very important Snyder collectible in this still very rare & final form. In very fine condition on handmade paper with irregular edges; waves along top & esp. left edge most likely as issued. Currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Will be shipped carefully rolled in a tube. Very Fine. [Item #2336]
