The Coldspring Journal, No. 5, February 1975

Cherry Valley, NY: Cherry Valley Editions, 1975. Limited First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. This fifth number of the literary anthology published by Charles & Pamela Beach Plymell's Cherry Valley Editions features a poem, "Train-Ride," by Louis Ginsberg, father of primary Beat poet Allen Ginsberg & a noted (if more conventional) poet in his own right. Also short poems by co-editor/publisher Charles Plymell ("N.Y.C. Street") & Anne Waldman, among the major poets of the later Beat Generation & the New York School ("Girls") sharing the same page; & many other contributions of poetry & prose. With several uncredited collage artworks (including one that places the face of Richard Nixon on the elaborately dressed body of an old general or king). One of 250 copies on Kraft paper as noted on colophon. Another rare, early & desirable Cherry Valley Edition. In very fine condition with only light browning to edges & margins of two page leaves where artworks are printed on regular white paper stock; natural wrinkling of some Kraft paper page leaves as issued; otherwise substantially mint inside & out. Very Fine. [Item #2460]
