New York, NY: Guggenheim Museum/The Academy of American Poets, Circa 1976. First Printing. Single Sheet. A poster (17&1/2"x22&1/2") announcing a poetry reading at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC on Tuesday, January 6 of an unmentioned year which we are fairly certain was 1976. Featured at this reading were Marvin Bell, the acclaimed poet who served as the first Poet Laureate of the State of Iowa; & Diane Wakoski, the venerable & prolific poet who has long resided in Michigan. As noted on the poster, the event was sponsored by the Academy of American Poets. With graphics including images of the two poets. A bold, rare piece of Bell & Wakoski ephemera. In fine condition with only one horizontal & one vertical crease across surface where originally folded into quarters; a few faint creases emanating therefrom, at edges & corners.
