[Item #2513] Cogollo. Clayton Eshleman.

Newton, MA: Roxbury Poetry Enterprises, 1976. First Limited Edition (unpublished). Stapled Wrappers. Signed by Clayton Eshleman & with his hand-written initialed statement. A chapbook of poems by Clayton Eshleman, the eminent poet, translator & educator who has long resided in Michigan. One of 350 copies that were printed but never released. The reason for this is explained by the poet below his hand-signature on the title page: "This book was never/ published because I/ found it so poorly/produced./ (initialed "CE") Indeed, the quality of the printed poems is uneven, but they are quite legible. A very rare Eshleman collectible. In very fine condition with only browning to edges of front, back cover & esp. spine; very light rubbing to same; stapled with folded edges outside as produced, (not) issued. Interior very fine with only tiny bumps at upper & lower corners of most page leaves; small stains at top-left blank edges of two pages, very slightly bleeding onto other side of leaves, probably as produced. Very Fine. [Item #2513]
