An Eye on the World. Lawrence Ferlinghetti.

An Eye on the World

London, England: MacGibbon & Kee Ltd., 1967. First Edition. Softcover. Published by English publisher MacGibbon & Kee in 1967, this volume is a selection of poems comprised of contents from "Pictures of the Gone World," "A Coney Island of the Mind," and "Starting from San Francisco"; along with "The Situation in the West," "After the Cries of Birds," and "Moscow in the Wilderness, Segovia in the Snow," --all billed under the blanket title of "New Poems." A great early, rare selection of poems from a man who even in 1967 was already internationally understood as a 20th century master. In Good condition: it has been well-read, has sustained some bump-creases and the outer layer of cellophane on front cover has begun to peel. The top of the covers have begun to crease outwards from bump-creasing and shelf-wear. Previous seller's light ink slashing of original U.K. price and new U.S. price at lower back cover. Good.
