1973 Descriptive Catalogue of City Lights Publications

San Francisco, CA: City Lights Books, 1973. First Printing. Stapled Wrappers. Offered here is the 1973 catalogue Lawrence Ferlinghetti printed to give a wider scope of selections to choose from than people outside of San Francisco would have had access to. Included in this book are some classic, iconic photos of various authors that have seen widespread publication elsewhere, but also contained within the catalogue are rarer shots of Gregory Corso, Kenneth Patchen, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Yevgeni Yevtushenko, Philip Lamantia, Bob Kaufman, & a smoky coffee shop scene from the era, concluding with a Roland Torpor illustration and the classic "Crowded Street" photograph taken just outside of the City Lights Bookstore. Laid in with the catalogue is the original order form, on which previous owner has x-marked Lamantia's "Selected Poems," Tom Pickard's "Guttersnipe," and Charles Plymell's "Last of the Moccasins." A beautiful snapshot publication of an incredible era in American literary history. Catalogue in fine condition with only slight rubbing, spotting to front, rear wrappers; uniform nicks on rear of same; minor bleeding at staples, slight shelf-wear to text block. Fine. [Item #2677]
