A poster (11"x17") announcing & setting forth the complete schedule for Beyond Baroque Literary/Arts Center's series of readings which took place at Old Venice City Hall in Venice, California during February-April of 1984. Among the significant literary figures who participated in this event were Diane Wakoski, the acclaimed & prolific poet who has long resided in Michigan; Edward Field, the esteemed poet who has written about & edited works by the Beat-cult legend Alfred Chester; Gerald Locklin, a Field protege who has written extensively on Charles Bukowski; & many, many others over three months of readings. With reproductions of photographs of four of the participants including Wakoski & Field in the middle of this bold, informative production. A rare & collectible piece of literary ephemera, from a California location which witnessed & nurtured the Beats & beyond along with San Francisco. In fine condition with only two light, horizontal creases where originally folded into thirds; very short, faint creases throughout surface & corners; one very small spot-stain near right corner of bottom edge. Currently mounted on stiff board, in protective shrinkwrap. Will be shipped carefully re-folded as originally issued. Fine. [Item #2686]
