Ted Berrigan. Bill Berkson, George Schneeman, Ted Berrigan.

Ted Berrigan

Austin, TX: Cuneiform Press, 2009. Limited First Edition. Sewn Wrappers. A collaborative work by poet Bill Berkson (1939-2016) & artist George Schneeman (1934-2009) dedicated to their mutual friend & collaborator Ted Berrigan (1934-1983), the giant of the New York School of poetry & a canonical category onto himself. As noted in colophon, this is one of an edition of 500 (un-numbered) copies published during autumn 2009, in the same dimensions (10"x13") as the reproduced hand-drawn & written work. With an afterword, "A Note on Ted Berrigan," by Berkson; & a publisher's note by Kyle Schlesinger written on the day of Schneeman's funeral- the artist died earlier in the year of publication. On first page after title, there is a facsimile of Berkson's & Schneeman's signatures & the date of March 5, 2006. A bold, beautiful production, a tribute by & to three great figures, & a most desirable rarity. In very fine condition with only very light, sparse rubbing, scratching & a few short, faint creases to front & back covers. Interior with only tiny bumps at upper corners of page leaves; otherwise substantially mint. Very Fine. [Item #2740]
