Los Angeles: Black Sparrow Press, 1972. First Trade Edition. Softcover in Sewn Binding. "Listen" is an experimental one-act radio play from Robert Creeley, published by John Martin's Black Sparrow Press in 1972. Interestingly enough, "Listen" was "...first broadcast by Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Cologne, West Germany, on December 1, 1971 in a translation by Klaus Reichert." (from copyright page). This early Black Sparrow edition is furnished with vibrant orange endpapers and contains exceptional monoprints by Bobbie Creeley, the poet's wife. From the library of Ken & Ann Mikolowski, founders of Detroit's "Alternative Press," publishers of many Beat/New York School/Black Mountain-related authors. Book in very fine condition with only slightest rubbing to front, back covers; slight dampstain to middle-right of front cover at fine-edge; similar but far more minute soiling at bottom right-hand corner of front cover; single nick at upper-middle left on back cover. Very Fine. [Item #2748]
