To Track the Wounded: A Journal
Roseville, MI: Ridgeway Press, 1988. First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. Inscribed & signed by Donald Mager to dedicatee James Perrizo. A chapbook of poems presented as journal entries by noted poet, professor & translator Donald Mager. The poems are all dated during the month of January, 1981 & below each poem/entry is a reference to a distance walked, presumably during which it was conceived or written. Stated first edition of December 1988, dedicated to Jay Spiro & James Perrizo, "whose healings brought these poems to life," as noted on copyright page. Perrizo (1944-2006) was a devoted Beat scholar & collector who at one time was the assistant to Edie Parker, Jack Kerouac's first wife. Also on copyright page just below the dedication, Mager has hand-inscribed & signed to Perrizo: "Dear Jim-/at long last these/poems are in print-/truly they belong to you./with eternal/gratitude/Love/Don." A very rare Mager collectible with significant association & provenance. In very fine condition with only the slightest wear at stapled spine; otherwise substantially mint inside & out. Very Fine.
