The Sun Rises Into The Sky And Other Stories: 1952-1966 w/Black Sparrow Press Review Slip

Los Angeles, CA: Black Sparrow Press, 1974. First Trade Softcover Edition. Softcover. "This book, which I was tempted to call a novel, completed a circle which began with the writing of the story "Krazy Kat" at Black Mountain, and ended with the title story here; I had developed a prototype. But the work I had ahead of me, the change I was unwittingly--and unwillingly--approaching, hit and stayed with me regardless of how I felt or regarded my own writing, and it was my memoir of my relationship with the artist Franz Kline, followed by "The Black Mountain Book," that was evidence I had changed from a third person metaphor to the first person-actual prose." (Author's Introduction). In the same author introduction just quoted, Dawson also states that he believes "...this book has companions" in other Dawson titles "Krazy Kat/The Unveiling" and "The Dream/Thunder Road." Review slip from Black Sparrow Press found within book at dark blue front endpaper. Book in very fine condition with only slightest rubbing to front, back covers & minute shelf-wear to same. Very Fine. [Item #2817]
