A handsome first hardcover edition without dust jacket as issued by the University of Central Florida Press as part of its Contemporary Poetry Series. Included is a single-sheet promotional flyer with uncredited artwork which may be a lithograph by Pat Custer Denison entitled "Sometimes a Woman Knows Joy," referred to in the book's acknowledgments as cover art (although it is not reproduced on the covers, it may be present in the softcover edition), along with blurbs by Wakoski & others, a descriptive/biographical passage & publisher's information including a hand-written additional telephone number. A fragment of a page from an unknown journal with references to Duke University Press publications is also present, found folded within the flyer. From the collection of James Perrizo (1944-2006), noted Beat Generation scholar & collector who once served as the literary assistant to Edie Parker, Jack Kerouac's former wife. A desirable Minty collectible in more rare hardcover format, further enriched with the informative, illustrated flyer. Book in very fine, substantially mint condition inside & out. Flyer in fine condition with horizontal crease through middle where folded in half; a few short, faint creases on surface; thin, untorn folds at upper & lower edges & corners resulting from slight protrusion out of book.
