[Item #2824] Metal. John Moulder.

Metal

Cherry Valley, NY: Cherry Valley Editions, 1975. First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. A slim collection of very short, haiku-like poem-stanzas all under the title "Metal" by John Moulder. The last page/poem consists in its entirety of: "welch, are you still/ in the woods?" followed by the date of "August 1974." This is undoubtedly a reference to the canonical Beat Generation-San Francisco Renaissance poet Lew Welch, who disappeared into the woods from Gary Snyder's home in the Santa Cruz, California mountains during 1971. An exemplary production of Cherry Valley Editions, the imprint of legendary poet-printer-publisher Charles Plymell & his wife Pamela Beach Plymell. With frontispiece collage by Charles Plymell. In stapled wrappers made from rough, brown grocery-bag style paper, with title & author on silver label affixed at an angle on front cover. An interesting & desirable rarity. In very fine condition with only a few light scratches & mild rubbing on shiny silver front cover label noted above; tiny creases at/near upper & lower left corners of same; tiniest bump-bends at corners of covers & spine; miniscule edgewear & thin creasing at lower edge of front cover. Interior very fine with only browning at thin edges of page leaves; tiny bumps at corners of same. Very Fine. [Item #2824]
