Qualiteria

New York, NY: Quality Paperback Book Club, 1995. First Printing. Softcover. "Quarterlia" is the quarterly publication of the Quality Paperback Club. Edited by Kathy Kiernan, this issue contains a plethora of intriguing contributions worth the price of admission alone. Among these are Jerry Tallmer's essay "Jack Kerouac: Back to the Village--But Still On the Road"; reminsces of Robert Lowell from one of his cousins; and a contribution from poet Deborah Sinclair on William Carlos Williams entitled: "The Good Doctor: William Carlos Williams--Poet, Doctor, my Great-Grandfather." Curiously preceding the table of contents page is an ad that reads: "GENERAL OPEN CALL / Jack Kerouac's / ON THE ROAD / CASTING / for the AMERICAN ZOETROPE film." As if these weren't enough, a section by the legendary Djuna Barnes, entitled "Becoming Intimate with the Bohemians," rounds out what is an incredibly varied issue of this literary journal. In very fine condition with only slight coffee stains at top of text block near rightmost fine-edge; slightest shelf wear. Very Fine. [Item #3069]
