Hamtramck, MI: Past Tents Press, 1989. First Edition. Softcover. A volume of poems by native Detroit poet & publisher Dennis Teichman. Divided into two sections entitled "V-8" & "Tales from the Landfill," the poems are all about the Motor City, its signature industry & struggles circa the 1980s, by a dedicated poet who "...lives, works and recreates in Detroit" (from mini-bio on last page leaf) through today, & whose imprint which he co-founded is still active, with a roster of Detroit & Michigan-based poets including the venerable Ken Mikolowski. With front cover design & six interior photographs by Paul Schwarz, the latter most evocative of Detroit's post-industrial ruination at its nadir. Large-format softcover original, first edition/ presumed first printing. A bold production, & a very desirable collectible. In very fine condition, with only tiny bumps at outer corners of front & back covers; otherwise substantially mint inside & out. Very Fine. [Item #3130]
