This double number of the literary journal edited by Donald Factor & Anthony Linick (with Anselm Hollo listed as "European Correspondent"), published in London, features mostly poetry & some prose by leading lights of the Beat Generation, New York School & other movements at their peak. Contributors include John Ashbery, Paul Blackburn, Gregory Corso, Diane di Prima, Kenward Elmslie, Allen Ginsberg, Robert Kelly, Kenneth Koch, Denise Levertov, Jackson Mac Low, Frank O'Hara, Jerome Rothenberg, Diane Wakoski & many more. With portfolio of artworks by Roy Lichtenstein, Claes Oldenburg & others. Softcover in sewn binding. At her contribution (the poem "Incidents of Cherries & Peaches"), Wakoski has hand-written her signature with characteristic series of vertical doodles. Blackburn contributes three poems & an interview conducted by David Ossman ("The Sullen Art"). In this interview, he mentions among other topics his work translating the medieval Provençal troubadour poets of the twelfth & thirteenth centuries for a projected anthology. Issued a decade after (1), & the year after Blackburn's untimely passing (1926-1971). Vidal (c. 1175-1205) was one of the Provençal troubadours that Blackburn wanted to translate into a modern language & idiom, as he discussed in the interview. With an introduction by George Economou, notes, & illustrations throughout by Basil King. Sewn-bound leaves with stapled covers, exposed spine.
