Cherry Valley, NY; Ostheim/Rohn, Germany: Cherry Valley Editions; Verlag Peter Engstler, 2015, 2016. Limited Edition Second Printing; First German Edition. Sewn Wrappers; Stapled Wrappers. Book. Both editions signed by Charles Plymell. "Cat Man Do is about as near perfect as writing could ever dream to be. In one short poem, Charley has capsulized the whole of our present circumstances here on this planet...to have somebody put it all in words is at once both scary and a godsend." (Roxie Powell, quoted on back covers of both editions) A short, intense prose-poem which incorporates & riffs on several biological & ancient philosophical quotes. First published in August 2015, here are two extremely rare subsequent editions of this late work by Charles Plymell, the legendary poet, printer, publisher & Literary Outlaw whom we have interviewed & count as our good friend: (1) Second printing of December 2015, produced by Bill Roberts' venerable Bottle of Smoke Press on behalf of Plymell's iconic Cherry Valley Editions in a limited edition of 100 copies, this is copy No. 1/100, signed by Plymell as called for in colophon on the title page. With front cover reproduction of collage artwork by the late Mary Beach, the mother of Charles' wife Pamela Beach Plymell & a noted artist-writer along with her husband, the late Claude Pelieu. A beautiful, exemplary BoSP production, small chapbook in hand-sewn binding. (2) First German edition, published the following year (2016), a larger-format chapbook with plain stapled wrappers, Beach collage reproduced as interior frontispiece. English & German-language texts of poem on opposite pages. Signed by Plymell on title page. Two desirably collectible versions of an important, seasoned work by a great & prophetic American writer.
