Clarksville, TN: Austin Peay State University, 1988. First Printing. Softcover. Signed by Diane Wakoski. This number of the long-running literary journal published by the Center for the Creative Arts at Austin Peay State University, edited by Malcolm Glass & David Till, features the poem "Reading a Letter from My Mother" by Diane Wakoski, the acclaimed & prolific poet who has long resided in Michigan. Below the end of the poem on page 45, Wakoski has hand-written her signature with characteristic series of vertical doodles in bold blue ink. Also in this issue are contributions by Theresa May (no relation to the former British Prime Minister that we know of), Marge Piercy & many more. With notes on contributors; & an ad for a reading by Allen Ginsberg which took place at the University on March 1, 1988, featuring a large, very stately photograph of Ginsberg taken by George Holmes. A rare & desirable literary artifact in this venerable series, especially with Wakoski's signature. In fine condition with only mild rubbing & browning to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps, faint creases at edges & corners of same; several small spots on front cover not effecting text or images; light rubbing & occasional spotting to upper & lower edges of text block. Interior very fine with only tiny bumps at esp. upper corners of some page leaves. Fine. [Item #3420]
