New York, NY: Segue Press, 1976. First Printing. Softcover. Signed by Diane Wakoski. "Roof brings together many of the poets and students who worked at Naropa Institute's Kerouac School in the summer of 1976. Founded in '74 by Anne Waldman, Allen Ginsberg and Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, the Kerouac School provides a meeting place for several generations of American poets...Our collection presents the authors in more or less the order they presented themselves to the Naropa community." (from editors' Preface, pg. 7) This historic first number of the poetry anthology-journal does indeed bring together many of the most iconic American poets who gathered at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics during its inaugural period. Burroughs, Robert Creeley, Robert Duncan, Ginsberg, John Giorno, Michael McClure, Alice Notley, Peter Orlovsky, Jerome Rothenberg, Ed Sanders, Diane Wakoski, Waldman & many others.
