Boundary 2 Vol. IV No. 1 (Fall 1975)
Binghamton, NY: State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton, 1975. First Printing. Softcover. Signed by Diane Wakoski. This vintage number of the scholarly journal dedicated to postmodern literature, chiefly edited by Robert Kroetsch & William V. Spanos, features a suite of five poems by Diane Wakoski, the acclaimed & prolific Beat-influenced poet associated with the Deep Image School who has long resided here in Michigan. On the title page preceding the poems (pg. 201), Wakoski has hand-written her signature with characteristic series of vertical doodles, just below her printed name. Also in this issue are contributions of poetry & prose by Douglas Blazek, Robert Bly, Robert Kelly (pioneering master of the Deep Image School) & many others; an interview with the venerable American poet Nathaniel Tarn conducted by Mike Erwin & Jed Rasula, an essay on Tarn's work by Stanley Corngold, & a section of poetry & prose by Tarn himself. With photographs including a portfolio by Donald Bell, illustrations, reviews, notes on contributors. A rich issue in this venerable series; & a rare, desirable collectible in the Wakoski canon. In fine condition with mild rubbing to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of same; mild rubbing & spotting to edges of text block esp. upper edge. Interior very fine with only tiny bumps, creases to edges of a few page leaves. Fine. [Item #3507]
