Sharon Springs, NY: Black Cat Ventures, 2009. First Edition. Stapled Wrappers. Inscribed & signed by Antony Daou to Charles Plymell. "Antony Daou, Arthur's eldest son, has continued the family love of Omar Khayyam's Rubaiyat with this short volume. Using the first 12 stanzas, he illustrates the beauty of Arthur's poetry for the non-Arabic and Arabic reader alike. Each stanza is carefully transliterated and also literally translated." (from back cover) Anthony Daou's continuation of his late father Arthur's legacy as a noted scholar of the world-renowned Rubaiyat (quatrains) of Omar Khayyam (1048-1131), the medieval Persian polymath. With texts in Arabic & English translations, & an introduction by the author. On the title page, Daou has hand-inscribed & signed: "To Charlie/ Plymell/ (signed) Antony Daou/ 3/3/12." Charles "Charlie" Plymell is of course the great American poet, printer, publisher & quintessential Literary Outlaw, our good friend & mentor from whom we obtained this.
