The President Who Was Nothing. Lawrence Ferlinghetti.

The President Who Was Nothing

San Francisco, CA: Anarchist Resistance Press, 1976. First Printing. Single Sheet. Signed by Lawrence Ferlinghetti. A broadside (8&1/2" x 14") with the title poem by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, among the most important founding members of the Beat Generation & San Francisco Renaissance as poet, publisher & proprietor of his iconic City Lights Bookstore, still with us as of this writing at the age of 101! An all-too-timely, ironic, evocative & provocative word-concoction by the master poet in his prime. Below the poem is written: "-with permission of Lawrence Ferlinghetti from his book/ "A Political Pamphlet," September 1976, Anarchist Resistance/ Press." The last line of printing reads "THORN (p) (space) Page 14," just below & slightly beside which Ferlinghetti has hand-written his signature in black felt-tip ink, both first & last name--an unusually-full format in contrast to most Ferlinghetti signatures that come to market and as such a defining characteristic for the discerning collector. Single sheet printed on recto only, originally folded horizontally into three panels with attendant creases. A most desirable piece of Ferlinghetti ephemera. In fine condition with fold-creases as noted above, some short, faint creases at surface; one very small spot at mid-lower right edge; a bit of wear & a few small creases at edges & corners. Fine.
