(preamble, pg. 7) A short work of imaginative-topical fiction by Tom Clark (1941-2018), the great & prolific poet, occasional prose writer as here, editor & biographer. Here are two editions of this work in one offering: (1) First hardcover edition, one of 200 (un-numbered) copies in blank black cloth boards without dust jacket as issued. On the title page, Clark has hand-written his signature in black ink below his printed name; & below that has hand-drawn in several colors a slender landscape of snowcapped mountains & sky. (2) First softcover edition, one of 1000 (also un-numbered) copies with reproduction of illustration by Clark encompassing front cover, spine & back cover (also a mountain scene). On the title page, Clark has hand-written his signature in blue ink below his printed name. Two very desirable, especially rare editions of this enchanting work in the Clark oeuvre. (1) in very fine condition with only a touch of wear to edges & corners of front, back covers & spine; light rubbing & spotting to upper edge of text block. Interior substantially mint. (2) also very fine with only very light rubbing & a few tiny spots to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at edges & corners of same; sparse spotting to edges of text block.
