Buffalo, NY: Sunnyoutside, 2010. First Edition. Softcover. Inscribed & signed by Richard Krech to Charles Plymell. A collection of poems by Richard Krech (1946-2018), renegade-sympathizer and poet whose first literary affiliations included the likes of Cleveland poet & publisher d.a. levy, who published Krech's "We Are On the Verge of Ecstacy" when he was still a Berkeley, California-area poet & magazine editor. Krech's work as a poet entered a hiatus during about the last quarter of the 20th century while he practiced as a criminal defense attorney in Oakland, CA. The poems in this collection were written during 2001-2009, & document Krech's second coming as a poet. On shorter title page, Krech has hand-written, signed & dated during year of publication: "For Charles,/ who knows it keeps/ going on and on/ and on. From Sunny california/ (signed) Richard/ 12/16/10." "Charles" is Charles Plymell, the great American poet, printer, publisher & Legendary Literary Outlaw. The two poets are certainly kindred spirits, & Plymell might have made an ideal pro bono client of Krech's, though he never was to our knowledge. First edition, softcover original. We have seen reference to a signed, lettered hardcover edition although there is no such reference in this volume. An essential compendium of Krech's later rich, varied, topical, passionately activist poems, with very significant poet-to-poet association & provenance. In very fine condition with only a bit of rubbing to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of same; small area of light rubbing at lower side edge of text block, corner & lower edge of same. Interior very fine with only tiny bumps at corners of a few page leaves; torn sticker with Krech's name & address under logo of Amnesty International (it figures) affixed to blank area of page 45. Very Fine. [Item #3728]
