n/p: Unknown, 1976. First Printing. Single Sheet Framed. "Who is this crazy woman?/ Chomping on protein tablets/ writing w/ india ink/ in such a large book?" A broadside (appx. 13&3/4" x 14&1/8" incl. frame) with the title poem by Diane di Prima, among the few & foremost primary female members of the Beat Generation. A beautiful, bold hand-printed production with illustration (uncredited) of an opened traveler's suitcase out of which clothing spills out & a tall-stemmed rose emerges with its bloom encircled by a colorful sun-like image. The poem is printed in facsimile calligraphy that is as sharply realistic as we have seen. Dated "4.23.76," limitation & publisher unknown. Handsomely framed with glass, backing & sturdy mounting wire. Our policy is to offer this gem exclusively thus, we would never risk the slightest damage to the broadside by attempting to remove it. An outstanding, & outstandingly rare, di Prima collectible. Broadside appears to be in very fine, substantially mint condition, mount-backed & without any surrounding mount. Frame very fine with only a few tiny bumps, chips at front most edges & corners. Glass very fine with only small amount of rubbing-smudging not substantially effecting image & which can probably be carefully cleaned off. Paper backing generally fine with minor blisters, creases to surface; edges & corners curling outward with slight exposure to mount-backing.
Due to its size & fragility, $10.00 Extra shipping and handling charges will be required to safely transport this item. Very Fine. [Item #3772]
