American poster signed by Charles Plymell & Gerard Malanga; Canadian poster numbered & signed by its artist-designer. Two electrifying posters, both pertaining to Legendary Literary Outlaw Charles Plymell & one also to Beat-&-Beyond poet-artiste Gerard Malanga: (1) Poster for "An Evening of Motorvating with Charles Plymell plus The Legendary Gerard Malanga" (appx. 11" x 17"), announcing a reading in NYC by Plymell & Malanga to promote Benzedrine Highway, a collection of Plymell's "High-Octane Early Work" published during 2013- we therefore presume that the date of "Friday, Nov. 8" referred to for the event was in that year, though no year is noted. A bold production with reproductions of three images: An early (circa 1960s-70s) photo of Plymell leaning on the hood of a vintage 1940s automobile; a contemporary photo of Plymell; & one of Malanga. Just below his printed name, Plymell has hand-written his signature in black ink. Next to his image, Malanga has hand-written his signature, also in black ink. (2) Poster for a twentieth-anniversary event to promote L'oie de Cravan (appx. 13" x 19&1/2"), a French-language publisher in Montreal. Among the roster of readers/ performers at events held during April 20-22 of an unspecified year (which we presume is 2017, twenty-five years after L'oie de Cravan's founding during 1992) is Charles Plymell with Bill Nace. Also referred to are Michael Hurley with Glenn Jones, Byron Coley with Jones, Bloodshot Bill & others. Texts in French. A beautiful, well-crafted production with illustration of birds forming a star-like structure. At lower right edge-corner, there is a hand-written signature & the limitation "12/110" in pencil. We cannot decipher the signature, but presume it is the artist-designer of this limited edition poster. Both of these were obtained by us from our good friend & mentor Plymell's own collection. Two very rare & unique art-&-literary works with the most cutting-edge associations & provenance. (1) in near-fine condition with very slight waving, faint creasing to surface; several small-to-tiny tears, holes across white, blank upper edge which does not reach illustrated portion; only very mild wear & a few tiny bumps at other edges & corners; slight smudging of Malanga's signature. (2) very fine on thick paper stock with only a few short, faint creases near upper edge; a few tiny bumps, creases at thin edges & corners. Both posters are currently mounted on boards in protective shrink-wrap, they will be shipped together carefully rolled in a tube. Near Fine; Very Fine. [Item #3802]
