Llandysul, Wales: Gomer Press; Gwasg Pantycelyn, 1993; 1997. First Editions. Softcovers. Language Regained signed by Bobi Jones & others; Llen Y Llenor inscribed & signed by Dewi Stephen Jones to Thomas Rain Crowe. Two volumes by & about Robert Maynard (Bobi) Jones (1929-2017), a respected academician & among the most acclaimed & prolific writers in the original Welsh language: (1) Language Regained, an essay by Bobi Jones in publisher's "...series of personal essays on aspects of life in contemporary Wales...intended to provide an opportunity for the expression of radical opinion." (from back cover) Trade-format softcover original, "First Impression- 1993" as stated on copyright page. Text in English. On the title page, Jones has hand-signed his first name, preceded by a short inscription, likely in the Welsh language, that we cannot decipher. Also, on blank inner front cover, are three hand-signatures including "Rosemary." These may be members of publisher, or previous owner(s). (2) Llen Y Llenor: Bobi Jones- Y Farddoniaeth Gynnar, a critical biography-tribute to Bobi Jones by Dewi Stephen Jones, the noted Welsh poet (& no relation to Bobi that we know of). All text in Welsh. Trade-format softcover original in sewn binding, presumed first edition. On the title page, Jones has hand-written & signed: "Tierec(?),/ This is the stone mason's/ tribute to a great/ sculptor. Perhaps it/ will be translated/ one day./ (signed) Dewi (underlined)." "Tierec(?)" is a Welsh translation of the name "Thomas," that is Thomas Rain Crowe, the acclaimed poet & publisher from whom we obtained this (as well as the other volume in this bundle), & who was at the center of the Baby Beat Generation/ Second San Francisco Renaissance during the 1970s (see our book, Starting from San Francisco, item No. 3071, Deluxe Edition No. 3075). Crowe's many interests & areas of expertise include the Welsh, Irish & Scottish languages & cultures. A most rare & desirable pair of Bobi Jones-&-related collectibles, with significant association & provenance. (1) in very fine condition with only mild rubbing & some faint creasing to front, back covers & spine; mild wear & a few tiny bumps, creases at thin edges & corners of same; mild browning & spotting to edges of text block. Interior very fine with only small-to-tiny bumps, creases to corners of page leaves. (2) also very fine with only very mild rubbing & scratching to front, back covers & spine; very slight wear & a few tiny bumps at edges & corners of same; very sparse spotting at lower edge of text block.
